Neil DeGrasse Tyson on the Science of Stephen King’s Dark Tower

Those of you that have heard the Dark Tower episodes of the podcast, know that I really enjoy the theoretical science that goes into it. One day, whilst pondering another MIND = BLOWN episode of StarTalk Radio, I got to thinking about the Tower, and how a scientist would view these various things. On a whim, I decided to shoot an email off to, none other than, the Director of the Hayden Planetarium and world renowned astrophysicist, Neil DeGrasse Tyson. To my surprise, he did a short email interview with me regarding the topic! I am so excited to bring you this interview! Dr. Tyson is a man that I look up to greatly, even as a lowly hobbyist of astronomy and physics. What follows is that interview, and I will say it again, MIND = BLOWN! Is there anything this guy doesn’t know?

On this episode of the Stephen King Fancast, Shaun Collins and I discuss “Eyes of the Dragon.” Shaun is one of the hosts of a Doctor Who Podcast that I am a big fan of called Travelling the Vortex. He and his cronies, Glenn & Keith, also host a blast of a time, in which Wholigans (my made up word for fans of Doctor Who) all sit down at the same time on Friday nights and watch a set episode(s) of Doctor Who and share the experience with each other via Twitter. I’ve joined in for #FridayNightWho on a couple of occasions and think it’s really a great way to chat with other Who fans that I otherwise would not have met! Should you be a Doctor Who fan, or interested in getting started, then check out the Traveling the Vortex podcast!

Stephen King A/V Round-Up

Above, is the trailer for the “N.” motion comic. It’s a great story, and if you don’t want to dig up the short story, comic books or audiobook, then this is a great way to check it out! I made a YouTube playlist that includes every episode of the series. You can find that by clicking here.

Above is a really rad trailer for Stephen King and Peter Straub’s “The Talisman.” This movie was never made, which sucks because this actually looks really cool!

Reelz Channel put up a video about the top 10 Stephen King movies.

Here’s a sample reading from King’s upcoming Dark Tower novel, “The Wind Through the Keyhole”

For the final portion of this round-up, I would like to introduce you to a new King fan blog and podcast that is out there called Discordia 19. It’s a good listen and I suggest you check it out!

iFanboy Interviews Walking Dead Creator, Robert Kirkman

[youtube http://youtu.be/N56kYM8shDs]

In case you didn’t know, iFanboy is one of the top rated comic book podcasts. They recently attended the Image Expo in Oakland, CA and did an interview with “The Walking Dead” creator, Robert Kirkman.

I have been a listener of their podcast and a subscriber of their YouTube channel for a while now, and saw this pop-up in my YouTube news feed.

I happen to be a huge fan of “The Walking Dead” in both comic and TV show form, and figured that you may be as well. Give this a look, if you like.
